Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LexEra platform, including all features, tools, APIs, and services provided through our website and applications. The platform is owned and operated by Lexera Legal Technologies LLP(“LexEra”, “we”, “our”, “us”), a limited liability partnership incorporated in India. By accessing or using LexEra, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
1. Service Description
- ResearchAI legal research collaboration tool with citations from Indian Kanoon and relevant statutes.
- Opposition Brief BusterAdvanced case law analysis engine with 5-module deep analysis.
- Draft NowAI-assisted legal document drafting tool with 36 court-ready templates.
- Client ManagerSecure workspace for client information, case notes, and practice organization.
- Calendar & Fee TrackerCourt date scheduling, deadline management, and fee tracking.
LexEra is a legal research and productivity tool. It does not provide legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship, and is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified advocate. All AI-generated outputs must be independently verified before use in any legal proceeding.
2. User Eligibility
- Age RequirementYou must be at least 18 years of age to use LexEra.
- Professional StatusLexEra is designed for advocates, chambers, and legal researchers.
- Accurate InformationYou must provide true, current, and complete information during registration.
- Credential SecurityYou are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use LexEra for the following prohibited activities:
- Unauthorized PracticeRepresenting AI-generated outputs as your own legal opinion without independent verification and professional review.
- MisrepresentationPresenting AI outputs to courts as certified legal opinions without proper review by a qualified advocate.
- Reverse EngineeringDecompiling, disassembling, or attempting to extract the underlying algorithms or AI models.
- Automated ScrapingUsing bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from the platform.
- Abuse of ResourcesSubmitting excessive queries designed to overload or degrade system performance.
- Illegal ActivityUsing the platform to facilitate any activity illegal under Indian law.
- Account SharingSharing account credentials with others without a team subscription.
4. Intellectual Property
- Platform IPLexEra retains all ownership rights in the platform design, code, algorithms, AI models, and branding.
- User ContentYou retain ownership of all content you create or upload, including notes, drafted documents, and templates.
- License GrantYou grant LexEra a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of delivering our services.
- Public DomainJudgments, statutes, and legislative texts are Government of India public domain. LexEra’s value lies in AI-powered analysis and organization of this material.
5. Limitation of Liability
- As-Is WarrantyThe platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind regarding accuracy or completeness.
- No Liability for LossesLexEra is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from reliance on AI-generated outputs.
- Verification ResponsibilityUsers must independently verify all AI-generated content before relying on it in legal proceedings.
- Liability CapTotal liability is capped at the amount you have paid to LexEra in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- No Indirect DamagesLexEra is not liable for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
6. Payment Terms
- Billing FrequencySubscriptions are billed monthly or annually with automatic renewal unless cancelled.
- CurrencyAll prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). The price shown is the full amount charged.
- Refund PolicyPayments are non-refundable once processed. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
- Price ChangesWe will provide at least 30 days’ notice before implementing price changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
- Payment FailurePremium features may be suspended in the event of non-payment.
7. Termination
- User CancellationYou may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
- Platform TerminationLexEra may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or non-payment.
- Data ExportUpon termination, you have a 30-day grace period to export your data before permanent deletion.
8. Dispute Resolution
- Informal ResolutionDisputes should first be directed to founder@lexera.co.in. We commit to attempting resolution within 30 days.
- MediationUnresolved disputes may be submitted to mediation with a mutually agreed mediator in Hyderabad.
- JurisdictionLegal proceedings shall be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction in Hyderabad, Telangana.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with:
- Information Technology Act, 2000Including all rules and amendments thereunder.
- Indian Contract Act, 1872Governing the contractual relationship between LexEra and its users.
- Consumer Protection Act, 2019Applicable consumer protection provisions.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email or in-app notification. Continued use of LexEra after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue use and close your account.
